2nd May 2020
If you’re a Landlord and have not got the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) policy set up and if you would like other useful information about regulations, hints, tips and other property information, then please follow the Facebook page for Nick Oakes, who is the director of Oakmans Estate Agents, or add him on Linked In.
The ICO is the independent regulatory office in charge of upholding information rights in the interest of the public. The organisation covers the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act. Every organisation or sole trader who processes personal information needs to pay a data protection fee to the ICO.
Under the Data Protection (Charges and Information) Regulations 2018, individuals and organisations that process personal data (such as a tenancy agreement) need to pay a data protection fee to the ICO, unless they are exempt.
Below is the link to the ico.org http://ico.org/ website where you can register and pay. The annual charge for SME or individual is £40, or £35 if paid by a direct debit, not doing this can result in large fines.
